Secondary Programs

-- Plus

The AYSO Plus program offers highly skilled U11 & U12 players the chance to play at a higher level of competition. AYSO Plus games are played during the fall season with a post-season tournament in December. Games are played between AYSO Plus teams throughout Area L.

To be a part of this program, the player must be registered in an AYSO Region for the fall season and be selected based on open tryouts that are generally held in May. Each child will be rated on his/her ball handling skills, offensive and defensive ability, game sense, speed, endurance, and attitude. Adjudicators include coaches from local soccer clubs and college teams, as well as coaches from Region 1422. At the end of the two-day tryouts, the ratings are totaled, the players are ranked, and the teams are formed.

-- All Stars    -- Canceled for Fall/Winter 2007

AYSO All-Stars is for players who played in the recreational division of AYSO in the fall. (Plus players are not eligible.) The All-Star season follows the intra-region fall recreational season, with play taking place in January and February. Players for the All-Star teams are chosen by coaches to participate in All-Star play based upon their performance in games during the recreational season. All-Star play is highly competitive, and is often a stepping stone for those who wish to take part in the Plus program. All-Star play starts at the Under 10 level and continues through the higher divisions.

-- Spring

Spring Soccer is an AYSO program that begins in February and ends in May or June. Unlike the fall season, where teams are created by the Division Commissioner, Spring coaches form their own teams by contacting players who played in Region 1422 in the fall. Any player who has played Club soccer on a PSC-S team during the Fall 2007 season may NOT play on an Area 11-L Spring League team without prior removal from the PSC-S team roster as well as having obtained prior approval from the AD/PSC-S President and the applicable RC.

There will be two categories of Spring teams:  Tournament teams (play tournaments ONLY) and Area 11-L Spring League teams, divided into three (3) Seeding categories.  Area 11-L Spring League teams may participate in tournaments before and after the scheduled season ONLY.  Spring teams will be seeded by each Region – 1, 2 and 3 (Criteria TBD).

All U19/U16 teams and AYSO+ teams are to be considered Seed 1.

Any player who has played Club soccer (for a club other than PSC-S) and also who has satisfied the requirement of playing 50% of the 2007 AYSO Fall season shall be considered an “impact” player and must play on a Seed 1 team ONLY.

The 2007 Spring Season will involve only Area 11L teams.  This will reduce some of the traveling we've experienced in recent years.

Fee: $35 Administration fee per player plus cost of uniform (amount determined by teams selection).
            Teams pay for all tournaments.

Please print, fill-out, and mail the Spring Application form to the following address by Jan. 15th:
AYSO 1422
